Medical Assistant (Temp to Hire)

REPORTS TO: Clinic Manager
TYPE: Non-Exempt
Salary: $20 / hour – 32 hours a week

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists medical providers during patient visits and with providing patient education pertaining to their ongoing health care.
  • May act as an interpreter when necessary between patient and provider.
  • Interviews patients to obtain medical information and reason for seeking care; takes vital signs and prepares patients for providers.
  • Ensures that lab reports are placed in patient charts for review by medical providers, that attention is called to abnormal results, and that patient information is properly stored and updated at each visit.
  • Acts as a liaison for patients during clinics; assists with referral work; advises of pharmacy needs and provides prescription information to pharmacies and assists in pharmacy refills.
  • Collects blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens; logs and prepares specimens for testing.
  • Performs miscellaneous procedures, administers injections, and provides wound care as required.
  • Cleans and sterilizes exam rooms and instruments; properly disposes of contaminated supplies; ensures that exam rooms are fully stocked at all times.
  • Provides prescription information to pharmacies and assists Clinic Manager in handling requests for medication refills.
  • Provides reception, answers phones, takes messages, and schedules appointments.
  • Maintains and adheres to HIPAA, employee confidentiality, and privileged communications (patient, employee, and organization).
  • Perform other duties within scope of the position as assigned by the Executive Director or Manager

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Graduation and Certification from an accredited school in Clinical Medical Assisting
  • Minimum one year of recent medical assisting work experience in medical field
  • Bilingual – ability to read, speak, and write in Spanish and English
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function as part of a team
  • Computer aptitude with experience in Electronic Medical Records preferred

JOB TITLE: Mobile Health Clinic Manager
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
TYPE: Non-Exempt

Part time position: 24 hours a week
$25 /hour

JOB OVERVIEW: Responsible for the SLO Noor Mobile Health Clinic, which may include but is not limited to planning, development, promotion, implementation and evaluation of related services, policies, and procedures. This position requires considerable discretion and initiative.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Coordinate general operation of SLO Noor Mobile Health Clinics (MHC) including the Paso Robles clinic and the Mobile Health Clinic, monitor and order supply inventory, and maintain clinical equipment.
● Responsible for oversight related to mobile clinical issues and implementing policies and protocols related to local, state, and federal mobile clinic regulation.
● Schedule MHC clinic team and volunteers, coordinate community outreach, schedule patients, conduct consenting and intake on patients, coordinate patient follow-up.
● Train and support MHC staff and volunteers during and prior to mobile clinic events and address Human Resources issues as needed in conjunction with the Executive Director.
● Evaluate MHC operations to improve systems and procedures.
● Serve as main point-of-contact with MHC partners, including site hosts, diagnostics facilities, supply vendors, non-profit organizations, local business, and government agencies assisting in MHC outreach.
● Develop and maintain knowledge of local and regional resources for specialty care and social support for patients and assisting MHC staff and volunteers in care coordination protocols.
● Develop and maintain MHC outreach activities by creating marketing campaigns through social, print, and digital media in order to reach and enroll new patients from target populations.
● Act as a back-up for Medical Assistants and other MHC volunteers and staff.
● Perform other duties within scope of the position as assigned by the Executive Director.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
● Minimum of two year’s work experience in a clinical setting; outreach and PR experience preferred.
● Bilingual preferred with ability to read, speak, and write in both Spanish and English.
● Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills.
● Strong decision-making skills, diplomacy, tact, flexibility, and attention to detail.
● Computer aptitude with experience in Electronic Medical Records preferred.

Grants Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Executive Director
TYPE: Non-Exempt

Salary: $25 / hour
The position is 24 hours per week with flexible hours and schedule.

JOB OVERVIEW: Responsibilities include finding and securing grant opportunities, writing grant proposals, and coordinating submissions.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Seek and secure funding through grant opportunities and funding campaigns for all foundation programs and projects;
  • Oversee the execution of grant activities and aid in the development of services that advance foundation operations in collaboration with clinical leadership and staff;
  • Complete and submit grant reports, communicating with representatives of funding and partner organizations, and;
  • Maintain a grants calendar, grants records and internal reports for reference by clinical leadership and staff.
  • Perform other duties within scope of the position as assigned by the Executive Director

COMPETENCIES:

  • Proficient in Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and GSuite (Gmail, Google Admin, Docs, Sheets).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function as part of a team
  • Ability to take initiative for new responsibilities and projects

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
